Capitalist communism?
Is it possible for a capitalist to behave in ways that are essentially equal to the way party bureaucrats behaved in the old Soviet Union. Yes, it is.
It struck me when reading this article on the inflated compensation levels for CEO’s. Ripping their rewards and then some while awarding little or next to nothing to the rank’n'file causes disillusionment among the latter to rise. And when that happens and is taken to the extreme, nobody can see a point in really taking responsibility for anything, and the whole corporate ecosystem turns into anarchy, chaos and mismanagement.
Because why bother when it doesn’t matter if you do or don’t?

Paper waste

This morning I stopped to buy a small piece of bread and a yoghurt at Magasin on Kgs. Nytorv in Copenhagen. And I was just thunderstruck by the amount of paper needed to give me a receipt for buying two small things.
What a ridiculous waste of paper…

On the road with mobile broadband
Today is the first day I really get to test out my new mobile broadband service from ‘3′. And let me just say: It works like a charm.
I’m writing this from the train between Ringsted and Roskilde on Zealand - a countryside that’s usually the enemy of mobile coverage. But the broadband connection is working fine.
I might get addicted to this, if I’m not careful…

A bad blockbuster?
The first non-official review of the new Indiana Jones movie is out. And this guy called ShogunMaster is less than polite in his review:
In short, this is the Indiana Movie that you were dreading.
For obvious reasons I don’t know if this guy is telling the truth. But it got me thinking: Does quality and blockbuster-status go hand in hand? Millions of people will undoubtedly be seeing this movie even if the reviews are bad.

Skipper attacked - but saved
This morning our dog Skipper was attacked by a muscle dog, when he and I went for our usual morning walk. Out of nowhere this other male dog turned up and went straight at Skipper. It as an un-even fight, and I’m dead certain that hadn’t I somehow been able to separate the two dogs, Skipper would have been killed.
Instead he got some flesh wounds, which we spent all morning at the vet trying to fix. Even the vet said, Skipper had been extremely lucky.
I’m so grateful that I managed to save Skipper. If I didn’t know it before I know now how important he is to us.

Great day in the sun
Today I spend a great day touring the surroundings of Nyborg. I was bent on finding places, where one can sit and do some serious thinking about projects of importance.
I biked around Slipshavn and Knudshoved, and I ended up at the lighthouses at Knudshoved, where there was a great view over the Great Belt, Langeland and Zealand. That is definately a place to hang out.
I even brought my Mac and did a video of it. You can see it here.
