What TV time could be used for?

Seth Godin has an excellent point about the number of hours being spent watching TV - time that could be put to use against more ‘important’ matters.

Three, four or even six hours a day not spent doing virtually nothing. Multiply it by 800 million people online and suddenly, there’s a huge influx of hours just waiting to be put to good use.

It’s mind-blowing when you think about it. So how do we get the ball rolling - away from the TV and towards something truly useful?

Damn hot fotoshoot

God knows I’m not Brad Pitt (and to be honest I don’t even think I would want to be), and I’m not model material. So that’s not why todays fotoshoot for the new blogsection on Journalisten.dk was damn hot. It was because, the photographer and I had chosen the warmest day of all year to be shooting those pictures.

It was indeed very hot, and I could feel my shirt all over the place. But I think we managed to get some quite cool shots. Surprise, surprise. The photographer seemed very happy about it, and since he’s the pro, I choose to be optimistic about it.

Come to think of it, I can’t wait to see the pictures. Maybe there’s just a tiny bit of Brad Pitt in there somewhere?

I’m trying to read…

…the book just published about my former top-boss at TV 2, Per Mikael Jensen. Its a hard task given that far from all my memories of him are even remotely nice.

So I look to the book for answers and clues. Something to put my experience into context. I have read 60 pages so far, and the clues have only been light.

I fear this book will be a huge disappointment and not leave me any wiser.

Dreaded summer reading

I have come across a book I need to read this summer. It’s a new interview book about the former CEO of my former employer.

The book was released for sale today, and I’m already dreading reading it because of some of the experiences I had, and the things I heard, while I was employed at TV 2. Things that were directly related to the CEO. And I fear that a lot of what he says in the book with be a rather stark contrast to my own experience of the time.

Nonetheless, I’m going to give the book a chance. It will be interesting to read about something, I was also a part of (even though it was small).

Un-conference me!

It’s always enjoyable to meet up with people, discuss and share ideas. It’s such a source of new ideas, insights - and great relationships with a lot of potential.

That’s why I’m extremely happy that it looks like we’re going to do an un-conference in Copenhagen about entrepreneurship within the media business. Never has the barrier been lower, been media are still playing kings and the opportunity is ripe for people with a great idea.

I’m soo much looking forward to this.

What happened to curiousity?

I’m about to embark on a new project I have created for myself in JCI Denmark. Fed up with years ongoing decline in membership and people getting frustrated about it, I have decided it’s time to understand why this is happening? Why are people not committed to the organization they chose to join?

To me it’s a question about being curious, and it makes me wonder. Why aren’t people more curious about things that go on around them? Has fear of involvement og carelessness taken the upper hand?
