Finally some good Rovers news
It has been a tough few works for every Blackburn Rovers fan. First the cherished manager, Mark Hughes, left for Man City. Then Paul Ince was hired to replace him without having any management credentials from a top club or country. And then all of our players (so it seemed) started to get linked to all sorts of different clubs.
Yesterday, finally some good news though. Not only did Rovers win a friendly over Benfica in Portugal. More importantly, Ince made England goalkeeper Paul Robinson his first signing of the summer. Alas legend Brad Friedel is leaving the club, but all in all it’s a great trade and a steal for a proven goalkeeper who’s only 28 years old.
Here’s looking forward to some new quality signings to underline the newfound optimism.

The truth in two sides to the same story
Something funny happened on the train this morning. Just as the train was approaching my stop, I met up with a former colleague of mine from TV 2. I won’t name names, but lets just say that it was someone with a very different take on the former management than myself.
We talked a bit about it, and it really dawned on me exactly how big a difference there can be in perspective on the same story depending which side you’re looking at it from. It was quite interesting.
We agreed to meet up some day and discuss. This is definately one, I’ll be looking forward to.

We’ve hit rock Obama-bottom
Following Barack Obama’s speech in Berlin yesterday, Danish daily Berlingske Tidende (part of Mecom) hits rock bottom today by using an entire spread in the tabloid format newspaper to print an idol poster of the Democratic candidate.
Please, wake up! First of all this is a guy who’s still nothing more than a candidate. Let’s get him elected, before we start celebrating him as Messiah reborn. Second of all, it still elludes me - and probably a lot more people - what he really stands for. Let’s get that figured out, before we start to idolize him. Please!
It’s when something like this happens, I feel embarrashed to be a journalist.

Visit from Norway
This week I have looked forward to for quite some time. Because this week is the week where my brother and his family will be visiting us from Norway.
Even though Norway isn’t at the other end of the world, there’s still a long physical distance between us. And its hard to get organized around visiting, because it involves a lot of calendars that need to match plus money for the tickets.
Anyways, they’re going to be here later today (hopefully). And I can’t wait to see them and to show my nephews, Kasper and Markus, the sights - especially the Danish Railway Museum in Odense. It’s gonna be so much fun.

Entrepreneurs to be
Today I sat in a cafe and had a coffee while waiting for a meeting to begin. At a table close by to young men were discussing setting up their start-up: Choice of bank, shareholders agreement, company branding, advertising etc.
I never learned what the new company was actually all about. Yet I felt elated. Because its always great to see young people betting on creating something on their own rather than just joining the corporate rank and file.
It makes me hopeful.
