Boom turning to epic bust?

For everyone without somewhat of a clear understanding of how the boom in China and India is affecting the environment, the Britannica Blog has a stellar piece. A small snippet:

As of 2006, coal provided two-thirds of China’s energy needs; consumption is expected to double by 2025, to more than 3 billion tons a year—twice the amount used in North America, and nearly four times the amount used in Europe. By 2030, at current rates, China’s coal consumption will surpass that of the rest of the world combined.

It may be that you don’t think this affects you. But after reading this you should seriously consider whether that’s true.
