Online 2.0
Just got my mobile USB modem from ‘3′ today. Now, in theory, I can be online on the go at 7,2 Mbit. That’s quite nice. It’s going to make a lot of train rides less painful.
I’m not sure Louise will like it too much though, as it goes somewhat against her advice of me learning to sign off some more. But I’ll prove to her that I can do that as well.

Hi Mads
Congrats, and thanks for the nice pictures of yesterday. I think you are mentioning something very interesting and important in this post.
The fact that we are able to be online all the time and where ever, can be a big advantage, but at the same time extremely stressfull. But is the solution to that that we should not embrace the opportunities in the wireless connection? - I do not think so, I think we should learn to sign off and be presence offline in the social group we are in and anticipate offline experiences.
Hi Anders,
Thanks for the kind words on the pictures :-). As far as online vs. offline presence is concerned, I agree with you. The answer is not to not be online but to be more present when you’re offline and not thinking about being online, while your offline. Long ramble, but I’m sure you get the point.
The big challenge with being online all the time is that it makes it a lot harder to actually go offline and stay offline. In some weird way you could argue that being offline will be what being online was 5 years ago - something special.
I sure get the point, and luckely you got my point.
Offline is something special, beautiful and extremely important.
I agree that it gets harder and harder to stay offline and we agree that its important. But what can we do about it? In some years I believe that it isnt just guys like you and me, but average joe that has this challenge. Just like people has a difficulty being present with the mobile in sight.
The quick point would be that there would be a great business for a consultancy on how go get offline :-).
I think it will actually get trendy to be offline. It will be a way to differentiate yourself - almost like having the coolest car. And if we get to that point, I think it will actually be easier to go offline, as some greater need for status will be driving this push.
Once again I AGREE… Offline will become cool.
Just like to be mentally present will become trendy. Live in the now instead of always thinking of where to go and what to do and so forth.
Yes, and this is why there is a major opportunity in turning right towards more offline there more all the geeks and A-listers turn left towards more online.
